Terrible experience with United Airlines. Our flight to LAX was first delayed by 3 hours due to a mechanical issue which I understand can happen, but we had a connecting flight from LAX to Sydney which we could not miss. After waiting patiently for 3 hours, we got a notification that the flight was canceled and that we were rebooked for the following day.
There were other flights within that time-frame that we could have been put on had we not been waiting for our flight to become available. United has done absolutely nothing to try and remedy the situation and offered us a measly 2 meal vouchers which mean absolutely nothing. Because of this, we have lost 1 full day of sightseeing in Sydney and are not able to cancel 1 nights stay in the hotel. On top of this, United hasn't informed us of what us going on with our checked luggage! We believe it is still in limbo and can only hope to see it once we finally arrive. More to come!
