I need a new laptop (after 1.5 years, thanks crappy Toshiba) but can't will myself to buy anything that doesn't have specs significantly better than the one I currently have. My biggest (and only real problem) with my laptop is that it overheats and shuts down. I brought it in once to get fixed under warranty and they took two weeks and it worked fine for less than a month. As a student, I couldn't take it in during my final few semesters as I always needed a computer and so now that the warranty has been up for awhile, they're useless to me and won't do anything. I can only run my laptop in a custom power setting (that runs it much slower) or it will overheat and shut down in seconds. I have the Satellite A200-FT5 model. I just wanted to share this because this is not the first time I've run into problems with a Toshiba product. This will however be the last time I purchase any Toshiba product and I hope that you think twice before doing the same.
My next potential laptop purchase: IBM, Lenovo, Asus, Apple, Dell. No others are even in contention. But take one thing away from this, do not buy Toshiba. Their products are sub-par, their service is horrid and useless, and they are completely unreasonable
